It’s Friday Five, our guide to the best things to do in London with the kids this weekend
Chinese New Year Parade
The big event is on Sunday and if you really want to get stuck in you should head to Chinatown and surrounding streets. A parade starts at 10am and progresses to Trafalgar Square for an all-day celebration.
Chinese Celebrations at the Museum of Childhood
A free drop-in which includes traditional Lion dancing, martial arts performances, calligraphy and craft stalls and a Chinese children’s art exhibition.
Meet Peppa Pig
If you’re going to meet one of tv’s biggest stars, then the Year of the Pig must be the right time. Head to Duke of York Square to make Chinese red envelopes and eat plenty of Chinese food.
Orchids at Kew
We normally kill ours off very quickly, but thankfully the staff at Kew Gardens are more skilled than we. This is a collage of colour which should brighten up any grey, February day.
Aurora Orchestra- Far Far Away
An immersive storytelling concert for under-fives and families at Kings Cross on Sunday. Audiences are invited to listen, sing, dance, and enter a magical world of play.
