Right royal things to do to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III

Calling all mini royal fans – it’s very nearly time for the grand Coronation weekend! Check out the schedule and official plans from Buckingham Palace, then make use of the extra bank holiday and join the Coronation celebrations for King Charles III with a little help from our roundup.

Wembley Park’s Coronation Celebration will feature a street party, with a kids zone (think magicians and stilt walkers), live music and lots of entertainment.

Communities across the country will be hosting ‘Big Lunch’ picnics. At Battersea Park, there will be screenings of all the royal action, live  music, films, family activities and a Coronation Big Lunch.

    Have a royal knees up at a Covent Garden King’s Coronation Party, with a busy lineup of free activities and entertainment.

    Head to Wimbledon to see colourful installations, sample themed menus, visit local markets and join in free royal activities for kids.

    Battersea Power Station will host a Coronation Party extravaganza with live music, big screens, face painting and a bubble show.

    Family picnics, free workshops and tours, plus a very special World Record attempt are all on the agenda at the Royal Museum’s Greenwich.

    Make your own crown and royal sash then explore Tower Bridge in your new regal accessories.

    To really get into the coronation spirit, you can explore the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace. See some of the beautiful carriages used in the procession and enjoy some special arts and crafts workshops.

    Explore coronation traditions, play giant chess and discover the rulers of the past and symbols of royalty at the British Museum.

    Celebrate the Kings and Queens of the animal kingdom at London Zoo, with animal talks, crafty crown making, face-painting and lots of zoo action.
