Clarendon Inspires – combining unique educational experiences and holiday childcare. A real win win for parents.

Keeping Tweens away from screens and entertained during the long Summer break is always a challenge, especially when they might have outgrown most of the holiday camp options, so I was delighted to come across Clarendon Inspires, from the team behind the long established Clarendon Tutors. They create bespoke trips to London’s best museums, led by one of their expert mentors who are passionate about their subjects and taking learning outside of the classroom. They will also pick up and drop off your children from home making it a very convenient option too.
Four children went on our tour, consisting of two sets of siblings both aged 11 and 9 and all great friends. Clarendon Inspired asked them which of the experiences they would be interested in and they all choose the Churchill War Rooms as none of them had never been before and they had all recently covered WWII at school. The day before the tour we were sent the details of our mentor along with an itinerary. This included time for the all important ice cream stop.
Our mentor Chloe was engaging and made learning fun. There was a little reluctance before the experience from the two 9 year olds but she soon drew them in and they were all hanging off her every word.
She had clearly worked hard to make sure she knew the answers to any question they might throw at her and pitched the tour perfectly for their ages, knowing which bits to miss out and not overwhelm them and which areas would be of more interest.
The kids came away full of new knowledge and interest in the subject, desperate the share the new facts they had learnt.
They are now lining up their next adventure with Clarendon Inspires. Poppy has her eye on Greek Mythology at the British Museum and Tilly would love to explore the Second World War further at the Imperial War Museum. They all thought the London Ghost tour would be great fun over half term as Halloween approaches.
