City Kids Magazine had the pleasure of attending The Baddies, a lively and entertaining theatre production at The Rose Theatre Kingston, based on the beloved book by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Check out our review!
The most mischievous and troublemaking characters were on show at The Baddies at The Rose Theatre: a witch, a troll, and an ancient ghost, all of whom were absolutely brilliant in this production! These baddies take great pleasure in being bad, roaring, scaring, and casting wicked spells to try and frighten a brave young girl. But is she as scared as they think? Or could she be even braver than they realize?
A hilarious and heartwarming tale, The Baddies delivered plenty of laughs for audiences of all ages, while also offering a lovely, hidden message about bravery and the importance of being yourself.
The cast shone so so bright and the music and singing throughout was world class – with our stand out performance being from Lottie Mae O’Kill who plays Mamma Mouse.
With catchy, toe-tapping songs by Joe Stilgoe (known for Zog and Zog and the Flying Doctors), this lively stage adaptation of Donaldson and Scheffler’s hit story was a hilarious, family-friendly show that’s sure to have everyone laughing.
The performance ran for about one hour and is perfect for children aged 3 and up, though it’s a show that can be enjoyed by everyone. My 7-year-old absolutely adored every moment!
While The Baddies has now finished its run at The Rose Theatre it makes its way to Cadogan Hall next summer, while The Rose Theatre continues to host a variety of exciting shows. Make sure to check their website for the latest details on upcoming performances.
