A Magical Night of Music, Acrobatics and Family Fun in Earls Court

Last week, just before Halloween, City Kids was invited to experience Come Alive!, a brand-new Circus Spectacular inspired by The Greatest Showman – and it was absolutely incredible. I went along with my just-turned-eight-year-old twins, and we’ve been humming A Million Dreams ever since.

The Venue: The Empress Museum, Earls Court

The show takes place at The Empress Museum in Earls Court, inside a stunning big-top circus tent that seats 700 guests. It’s easy to reach by tube or car, and the fun begins well before the lights go down.

Pre-Show Carnival Fun for Families

Before the main performance, families are welcomed into the magical Empress Museum for a full hour of pre-show entertainment. Kids can meet circus characters, watch trampolinists soar through the air, enjoy close-up magic tricks, and play interactive games.

There’s also a fantastic range of family-friendly food and drink – from burgers and hot dogs to popcorn, candy, and drinks for both kids and grown-ups. The whole area is designed like a carnival village, bursting with colour and excitement. It’s the perfect warm-up for the main event.

The Show: Pure Circus Magic

Once the show begins, prepare to be amazed. Come Alive! features West End performers and world-class circus acts including acrobats, trapeze artists, fire jugglers, and dancers. The soundtrack brings The Greatest Showman to life, with unforgettable numbers like This Is Me, A Million Dreams and Rewrite the Stars.

The staging is cleverly designed so every seat feels close to the action – performers sing, dance, and flip through the air right in front of you. The atmosphere is electric and immersive, perfect for families looking for an unforgettable London day out with kids.

Our Verdict: A Must-See for Families

My twins didn’t move the entire time – they were completely mesmerised! The show is perfect for everyone, whether you’re 8 or 98. It’s packed with energy, music, lights, and so many “wow” moments that you’ll be talking about it all the way home or listening to the greatest showman soundtrack as we have done everyday since seeing the show. I would probably say that 7-8 is the youngest child I would recommend for this particular show however they do also do matinee performances which would be great for the smaller children.

Created by award-winning director Simon Hammerstein, this spectacular blend of music, performance, and circus artistry is a true family theatre experience you won’t forget. My kids are already saving their pocket money for our next visit.
