Two Beloved US brands have opened a stunning new family store on King’s Road

Chelsea has gained a stylish new destination for families. American childrenswear favourite Janie and Jack and premium maternity brand HATCH have opened a first-of-its-kind dual-concept store on London’s iconic King’s Road, marking both brands’ debut in the UK retail scene.

The new space sits inside the beautifully refurbished Gaumont Building, one of Chelsea’s most significant recent redevelopments. Designed as a seamless shopping experience for modern families, the store brings together two brands known for thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship and a strong sense of community.

For those familiar with the brands across the Atlantic, Janie and Jack has built a cult following for its heirloom-inspired childrenswear, offering elegant pieces for babies through to age 10 that blend classic silhouettes with a contemporary feel.

Alongside it, HATCH introduces London parents to its elevated maternity wardrobe and beauty collection – designed to support women before, during and long after pregnancy. The brand is also known for creating community-driven spaces that connect new and expecting mothers through events, conversations and expert guidance.

Together, the brands create a retail experience designed to support families through every stage of parenthood, bringing fashion, function and community under one roof.

Opening Weekend Celebrations

To mark the launch, the store will host a special opening weekend from 13–14 March, inviting the Chelsea community to explore the new space and discover both collections.

Visitors can expect:

  • A first look at Janie and Jack’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, featuring soft pastels, playful florals and charming bunny prints.
  • An introduction to HATCH’s signature wardrobe staples, including maternity denim, premium fabrics and cult-favourite beauty products like Belly Oil.
  • A Cravings Bar serving sweet treats during a dedicated event for new and expecting mums.
  • A complimentary bouquet of flowers for shoppers spending over £100 (while supplies last).
  • An interactive jellybean tower for children, with six winning beans representing £150 gift certificates.
  • A barista coffee cart serving complimentary drinks throughout the event.

The opening has been timed to coincide with Mother’s Day weekend, adding an extra layer of celebration for families visiting the new store.

A New Chelsea Destination for Families

The store has been thoughtfully designed to feel welcoming, elegant and community-focused. All collections are presented on the ground floor for easy browsing, while downstairs a dedicated event space and private HATCH try-on area create a more intimate setting for styling appointments and gatherings.

Set within the revitalised Gaumont Building — a landmark redevelopment restoring the historic Art Deco theatre site – the store adds a fresh chapter to King’s Road’s long reputation for style and creativity.

With heirloom-quality childrenswear, beautifully designed maternity pieces and a strong emphasis on community, this new Chelsea opening is set to become a must-visit destination for London families.
