Malvern College extends its long-standing collaboration with Worcestershire County Cricket Club until 2028

Malvern College and Worcestershire County Cricket Club (WCCC) have confirmed a renewed partnership agreement that will see the College continue as the club’s winter training base through to 2028.

The agreement formalises a relationship that has been in place for more than 15 years, with Worcestershire’s professional squads, academy players and performance pathways regularly training at Malvern College’s sports facilities during the off-season.

Under the renewed partnership, Worcestershire CCC will continue using the College’s Sports Complex for indoor cricket sessions, strength and conditioning work, and player development programmes across its professional, academy, pathway and women and girls’ teams.

The collaboration complements Malvern College’s established scholarship programme and long-standing sporting heritage. Cricket has been embedded in life at the College for more than 150 years, with numerous county and international players having studied there over the decades.

Mark Hardinges, Director of Sport at Malvern College, described the agreement as “a significant statement of intent” from both organisations, highlighting the shared commitment to player development and long-term sporting excellence.

Worcestershire CCC Chief Executive Ashley Giles added that the partnership provides “clarity and confidence for the years ahead,” noting the strong alignment between the club and the College in their approach to development and preparation.

Alongside elite training pathways, both organisations also plan to expand community engagement initiatives and collaborative opportunities across the wider Worcestershire cricketing community over the course of the partnership.
