A Very Croydon Christmas: Festive Fun, Fries & Frolics
Croydon Town Centre is transforming into a festive playground this winter, as A Very Croydon Christmas returns from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 December 2025, offering a joyful weekend of outdoor arts, live performances, workshops and family activities.
Bringing together the warmth of traditional Christmas celebrations with brilliantly unexpected contemporary moments, this year’s programme is packed with things to see, watch and do. Families can enjoy everything from carol concerts and mulled wine at Braithwaite Hall, to street theatre, roaming installations and hands-on craft sessions.
One of the standout highlights is the extraordinary Living Snow Globe – a life-size, walkabout snow globe featuring a Snow Queen who interacts with the audience, controls magical effects and can unleash a spectacular swirling snowstorm at the push of a button .
Elsewhere, families can experience the surreal and hilarious DJ Frietmachine, a Dutch interactive installation where you literally DJ your own portion of fries; enjoy the vibrant outdoor dance theatre of Mughal Miniatures: The Elephant & The Drummer by Sonia Sabri Company; and meet roaming characters such as Miss Murphy’s Pantomime Ponies, Matt Pang’s Curiosity Christmas Tree, and a gigantic elf spreading cheer on the high street.
Little ones can join Baby Gospel, dive into festive storytelling sessions with Andy Copps, or get creative at Croydon Clocktower making Christmas rosettes, Romani lucky horseshoes, and more.
Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon, describes the weekend as “a joyful celebration of the borough’s creativity and community spirit,” bringing people together at the heart of Croydon to celebrate both tradition and imagination .
