Explore how the image of Britannia herself has changed over the years, and explore her history through the countless objects she’s appeared on. Then, take inspiration from the exhibition o design and colour your own version of Britannia to win a prize.

This summer, draw your own Britannia in our free family activity.

Join us this summer for a free family activity! 

Britannia was Ancient Rome’s symbol for Britain. She has appeared on all kinds of objects since the Romans invaded Britain nearly 2000 years ago. Even today, Britannia is seen by many as a symbol of trust, Britain, and the Bank of England!

Discover how Britannia’s image on coins, medals, and also banknotes has changed over the years with this fun family workshop. And, design and colour-in your own modern-day Britannia for a small prize!

This event is free as well as offered on a drop-in basis, with no need to sign up in advance.
