For one night only, the heritage Chiltern Open Air Museum opens its doors for a spooktacular family Halloween event, featuring a spooky woodland walk, fire performances, bonfire, spooky horse and lots more fun family activities.

When: November 1. The evening starts at 5pm and continues until 9pm, with last admission at 7.30pm.

Ticket price: Adult £15.50. Child (4-16) £17.50. Under 4s free. Discounts apply for members. Tickets are limited so pre-booking is advised.

The historic buildings of the Chiltern Open Air Museum will be decorated for a special Halloween event. The buildings were the homes or workplaces of ordinary people – providing a perfect backdrop for all things ghostly.

Spooky stories will be told around the fire of the Iron Age roundhouse, you can grab some treats by visiting some of the historic houses before warming yourselves by the fire and toasting marshmallows. Around the Museum grounds there will be Halloween-themed activities for the whole family to enjoy. The very brave can explore the scary woodland walk – but beware of the monsters that might be there in the dark. Younger children will enjoy the not-so-spooky walk and family fun storytelling.
