The Crafts Council Gallery invites young makers to come and explore what they can accomplish with Craft School. School students competition winners are on display for inspiration, while weekly workshops delve into different materials, and encourage creative use. Daily handling sessions allow for touching of objects and materials, perfect for exploring what’s out there and what can be made with a little imagination.

The Crafts Council Gallery is where visitors can create and experiment with materials and also meet others who love craft. Every Wednesday in August, join in a free craft workshop , led by friendly staff and skilled craft educators.
Craft School displays winning entries from the national school’s competition Craft School: Yinka’s Challenge, developed with British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori.
These works celebrate making by young people and explore how craft can be a place for young makers to develop.
Drop into a free daily handling sessions between 11:30am-12:30pm, where you can get up close to craft objects, as well as materials and samples.
Craft School is the perfect place for young people to discover more about craft and start their own journey.
