More information from organisers:
Go wild this summer holiday with a programme of activities celebrating 40 years of the best-selling book Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell, in partnership with Macmillan Children’s Books. Some events have limited capacity and will be first come first served.
Dear Zoo trail
Find the animals from Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell hiding in the museum. Along the way, find out fun facts from unusual items sent through the post to animals working for the Post Office.
Dear Zoo: Storytelling session
Experience the magic of sending and receiving post with a fun-filled storytelling session based on Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. Send letters and unpack special deliveries from the zoo in an interactive, 30-minute session.
Dear Zoo: Meet the Author
Meet Rod Campbell and bring your book for signing. Plus take part in an interactive storytelling session.
Arts and crafts: Magical Menagerie
Create your own magical menagerie of creatures. Think about where they live, what they eat, how they travel and bring them to life with collaging.
Arts and crafts: Toucan Make A Difference
Make and decorate your own paper toucan and think about how we can make a difference to the environment. The more ideas you have, the longer the toucan’s tail will get.
Arts and crafts: Animal Suncatchers
Inspired by the animals in Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell and animals in the postal service, create your own suncatcher made from recycled materials to take home.
