This year’s main exhibition at the Design Museum is Electronic: From Kraftwerk to The Chemical Brothers, a feast of strobe lighting and clubbing in the late 20th century.
In 2008 the museum moved from Shad Thames to a former 1960s building in Kensington High Street, West London.
The unique landmark from the 1960s, a Grade II* listed building had stood vacant for over a decade, was transformed by a design team led by John Pawson who made the building fit for a 21st-century museum, whilst at the same time retaining its unique spatial quality.
There are new exhibitions regularly and there’s a great Families programme of regular events and activities with plenty of opportunities to get creative, offering free and ticketed workshops and gallery experiences aimed at children aged 5-11 years.
You will need to pre-book your tickets online and new measures have been introduced to ensure all visitors and staff can feel safe.
