Dive into the world of theatre and film at The Royal Institution’s Family Fun Day: Lights, Camera, Action event.

Age: Family Fun Days are suitable for ages 7 to 12, though older and younger siblings are very welcome. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Those aged 4 and above need a ticket to attend.

Ticket price: £16 (Standard) / £10 (Concessions) / Ri Members and Patrons free.

Explore how to create amazing special effects, develop photographic film and create your own holographic illusion at Family Fun Day.

Discover how science and art collide in this fun and interactive day and how we wouldn’t be able to enjoy our theatre, tv shows or films without those working in STEM.

All activities and talks run throughout the day, giving you plenty of time to see all the talks and try out all the activities. There is sometimes a queue when we first open, so you might find it easier to arrive a little later. Most people stay for about two hours, but you’re welcome to stay as long as you like.
