The Foundling Museum and its events help to tell the story of the UK’s first children’s charity and its first public art gallery – the outcome of a centuries-old project designed to care for and educate London’s most vulnerable citizens. Their summer workshops are created to entertain children in the holidays plus there’s BSL options too.

Wednesday 26 July

Family Animation

Come along to this creative stop-motion animation workshop delivered by artist Lily Ash Sakula to explore what makes a family. Make your animation using collage by experimenting with found imagery and paper-cut outs.

Workshop 11:00-13:00 has BSL interpretation

Thursday 27 July

Playful Self-Portraits

Join this playful photography workshop with artist Jessica McDermott and capture your own unique self-portraits with handmade props, costumes, masks, and backdrops.

Friday 28 July

Family Tree Sculpture

Get playful and experimental with artist Laura X Carle to create a huge collaborative sculpture inspired by a family tree.

Free golden tickets are available for local residents, families in receipt of Pension Credit, Universal Credit, Income Support, Personal Independence Payment and Job Seekers Allowance. We recognise that families have different needs and we welcome everyone.
