What do you call a knight without a sword? Pointless! Learn how swords and knights went hilt in hand for hundreds of years, even when armour technology had moved on.

Join the free session to handle and try on real and replica pieces with the help of a team of Hands on Armour volunteers.

The Wallace Collection is a national museum housing masterpieces of painting, sculpture, furniture, arms and armour, as well as porcelain. The museum is free and open daily from 10am to 5pm. The armour session is a monthly family event.

Among the Collection’s treasures are an outstanding array of 18th-century French art, many important 17th and 19th-century paintings, medieval and Renaissance works of art and one of the finest collections of princely arms and armour in Britain.

The Wallace Collection is displayed at Hertford House, which has been open to the public as a museum since 1900.
