Head to the Royal Mews to enjoy some fantastic arts and crafts activities at at Hooves and Horses. Activities are inspired by the amazing horses and awe-inspiring carriages housed in the Mews.

Whilst you are visiting, make sure you also visit the State Stables. Here you can dress up in livery, sit in a carriage, and have a go at tacking up our wooden pony ready for a procession.

The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace is responsible for all road travel arrangements for The King and members of the Royal Family, from horse-and-carriage to car and from livery to harness.

See behind the scenes at a real working stables in the heart of London, steeped in royal history, and marvel at the iconic 260-year-old Gold State Coach, used at State occasions such as Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation in 1953, the Platinum Jubilee in 2022 and King Charles III Coronation in 2023.
