Have a few little anarchists, or just fancy some shouting and self expression? Punk Alley features punk band Lazurr Tuts sharing original music, and the moves to match. Anyone can join in, and who knows, it may well spark some rebellious voices.

If punk isn’t your thing, then how about joining in with Step Hop House, combining traditional folk with modern hip-hop. Watch performances featuring their unique sound before taking part in two workshops to hone some new dance moves.

Party provides all the excitement and anticipation of a birthday party in this play for young ones. With fun and warmth, it’s a perfect piece of summer.

Punk Alley

Create punk songs, write placards and play music that channels your inner anarchist in this family-friendly theatre show from the foot-stomping Lazurr Tuts. Dance, sing, shout, whisper, stomp, spin, sign and shake with the Lazurr Tuts on a journey of self-expression.

No matter how loud or soft, the Lazurr Tuts want you to discover that what you have to say is important. Set your inner anarchist free and celebrate the joys of being you in a safe, caring environment in which everyone is equal.

Step Hop House

Maypole, clogging and ceilidh meet street, house and breakdance, with a hint of African and Bollywood thrown in, all to a live soundtrack of fiddle and beatboxing. Watch the Step Hop House performance, then join in with two workshops: Ceilidh Jam and Street Dance the Maypole.

Ceilidh Jam gets you on your feet for a funked up, unique, folky, social dance – a fabulous chance for all to dance. Using traditional callers to teach, it mixes folk formations, street dance, legendary moves and freestyle grooves, including the Soul Train line to Lucky Seven, Strip the Willow and the Electric Slide.

Street Dance the Maypole is a chance for all ages to get their hands on the maypole and dance together. It mixes a street dance routine with folky maypole moves, such as the Chrysanthemum Wrap and the Ripple.

Party

Afonso wants to go to his best friend’s birthday party, but where is his invitation – has it been lost in the post, or maybe he wasn’t even invited?

When it finally arrives the excitement and nerves become too much to handle. What should he wear? Will they have balloons? Will anyone play with him? And what about the cake?

Party drenches you in the warmth of a Portuguese summer, taking you to a place where difference is something to celebrate.
