Explore the grounds of the Horniman and get stuck in with Outdoor Messy Play. These weekly sessions offer the chance for young ones and their carers to play together and get nice and messy! Play in the mud kitchen or find some natural treasures i the gardens, and see what you can make.

Join the Horniman for lots of messy fun outdoors, aimed at little ones under 3 and their carers.

Come along to the weekly outdoor messy play sessions. Located in the South Downs of the Horniman Gardens, these family friendly sessions are aimed at young children and adults who want to have fun and also play together outdoors, getting as messy as they dare!

There are lots of opportunities for free play in the mud kitchen, or you can explore a bit further, hunting out natural treasures to make a simple craft.

Staff are on hand to help you explore and play, but accompanying adults can join in and have fun too– so make sure you dress for the mess!
