Spanning over 100 years of photography, Portrait of a City at Dulwich Picture Gallery explores American urban life through the people who shaped and inhabited it. Featuring work by 34 influential photographers including Alfred Stieglitz, Dorothea Lange, Diane Arbus and Walker Evans, the exhibition captures moments of migration, industry, counterculture and everyday life across cities such as New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. A powerful visual history, it offers families and older children insight into social change through portraiture.
