SCIENCE MUSEUM

The Science Museum tells the stories of the extraordinary human achievement and technological advances that have helped humanity overcome challenges throughout history. From Helen Sharman’s iconic space suit to Amy Johnson’s marvellous Gipsy Moth aeroplane, these incredible stories help ignite curiosity, encourage scientific endeavour and inspire the next generation.

Wonderlab at the Equinor Gallery will open from 19th August. It’s a family favourite covering everyday science and maths to ignite curiosity and fuel imagination. Spread across seven different zones, there’s loads of opportunity to get hands-on with real scientific phenomena. See lightning strike before your eyes, play with forces on giant slides or travel through space under a canopy of stars.

It’s a brilliant museum for children to explore and that’s one reason why the Science Museum queues are long.

To ensure you have the space you need to explore the museum safely and confidently, all visitors are now required to pre-book free tickets in advance.

Initially, tickets are available from Wednesday 19 August until Sunday 6 September so you can plan your summer holiday visit. From Monday 7 September, you can book up to two weeks in advance with more tickets being released each day.

Opening times:

10.00–18.00, seven days per week
