More information from organisers:
Start by marvelling at the scale model of the House frozen in time in 1942, then head down to the basement.
Watch films that bring history to life by AI animated historic photographs, pick up a phone to hear excerpts from an officer’s diary, and see if you have what it takes in our Playback Room, where you can listen, record and spot keywords in playback, in English and German. Try our air-raid siren, take a peek into our 1940s kitchen and storerooms and finish with a photo in Secret Listener uniform.
Trent Park House of Secrets, the north London museum that opened in July, is also launching its first family trail for October half term – alongside the hands-on basement where young history detectives can find out how captured German generals were secretly overheard during the Second World War.
Amazing Creatures Explorers, for under-8s, is a playful way into the glamorous interwar years at the House. It sits alongside the hands-on, family-friendly elements of our WWII Secret Listeners story. Start by marvelling at the scale model of the House frozen in time in 1942, then head down to the basement.
The museum offers a family ticket discount and accessible spaces. There’s a café, a buggy area, and the Clore Learning Room for packed lunches. It sits in more than 400 acres of parkland, so it’s easy to make a full day of it.
