Pickling workshop
This practical workshop will teach you everything you need to know to get started creating tasty pickled treats at home and reduce food waste. During this practical workshop, experts will show you how to prepare easy pickled and fermented recipes, demonstrating how to craft fridge pickles, sauerkraut and apple cider vinegar.
Bring along 2 medium jars and any vegetables you have at home that you want to turn into something tasty – all other equipment provided.
Pre-loved pavilion
Visit the pavilion in the chaplain’s courtyard to learn how you can re-love items and do good for the planet. Then visit the Palace sewing bee team and see what they’re up to.
Garden games
There will be free interactive games for children in the walled garden, courtesy of Supercamps and The Bushcraft Company. Rosie Posie and About Faces will be face-painting all day.
Garden tours and chicken chats
Learn about composting, birds or the Palace moat in mini-tours from our fantastic garden apprentices, or meet our brand-new crew of chickens with gardener Pete.
Seed swap
Have you planted your spring seeds and still have a few left in the packet, or did you harvest more than you needed last year? Share the love and bring your seeds along to a seed swap. You’ll be able to exchange your spare seeds for something you don’t have. All seeds are welcome, from flowers to produce.
Picnic on the lawn
Sit back, relax and enjoy the live music as you take a break from the activities.
