THE NEW AND REFURBISHED MUSEUM OF THE HOME
The new Museum of the Home is open after a major site renovation, with lots of events planned for all the family.
The site closed in January 2018 and, after an £18 million redevelopment and a new name, the collection will now focus on diverse, personal stories of the home.
The family-friendly museum, which was formerly the Geffrye Museum, will invite its visitors to rethink what their house means to them, with a collection of interior artefacts spanning 400 years.
There is an interactive exhibit which looks at how home entertainment has changed over the years. For younger visitors, there is also a display which explores the role of children in the home through poetry and interactive art. And there will be plenty of workshops, performances and interactive garden activities for families during school holidays.
