t’s Christmas Eve on the farm, and the chickens, pigs and cows are fast asleep. Inside the farmhouse, the fire is roaring and a delicious and the steaming pudding is left out on the windowsill.
When Charlie and her dad move to the farm from the city, everything seems to go wrong. Dolly the cow’s in a grump, there’s not an egg to be found, and the cockerel has also stopped crowing! If only they’d paid attention to the mysterious note left on their windowsill about a curious pixie and the pudding that she likes to eat on Christmas Eve.
The Pixie and the Pudding is best for ages 4-11. All ages can enjoy the funny farm animals and the Pixie’s magical visits to the house. For older children there are ideas about tradition, city life versus country life, and the characters’ relationships. Very young children may also get restless as the show runs for almost an hour and has lots of dialogue and not many ‘joining in’ parts.
