New play space The Wild is London’s first children’s destination designed by a Froebel specialist. The Wild stimulates creative learning through sensory engagement, where children can experience climbing in a safe, fun and creative setting.
Designed in partnership with early years specialist Felicity Thomas, The Wild focuses on developmental play and harnessing froebelian principles. The space offers both mental and physical benefits for children. It stimulates them through sensory touch points, colours, and shapes, as well as supporting flexibility, movement range and endurance. From a slide mimicking a rushing river to boulders as mountain rocks and sounds replicating that of a natural woodland, The Wild is a magical destination that little ones will surely want to keep visiting.
Whether popping by for a free play session or a pre-booked private party, children will feel encouraged to problem solve, conquer fears, enjoy self gratification and learn new skills through games and colour association. Perfect for special occasions, Substation’s The Wild is available for private hire with the opportunity to also include climbing instructors, an Entertainer to host games, a UV package for glow in the dark fun, birthday cake and more.
During the week The Wild is also available for 90 minute free play where children can roam in a safe space under parental supervision.
Providing a space for the whole family, older climbers can take advantage of Substation’s 1,000 square metre state-of-the-art climbing wall including two LED training boards and a circuit board with 50+ moves. With new routes set each and an expert team of in-house and freelance route setters, Substation promises to keep climbing interesting and fresh with new challenges for everyone.
