Museum of the Home’s annual free Winter Festival is back. With events spanning a range of cultural and historical festivals—from Diwali and Hanukkah to Christmas and Lunar New Year—the Museum will be the destination for appreciating winter in its many forms.

A rich programme of events and redressed rooms for Winter Past will focus on period rooms spanning the past 400 years. This year, for the first time, this will include new rooms from 1878 to 2049, encouraging visitors to consider the changing nature of traditions. The displays will tell the stories of migrant communities celebrating the festive season. You’ll journey from a joyful midwinter celebration in 1630 to a midnight mass in 1956, and even glimpse a futuristic New Year’s Eve in 2049, exploring how winter traditions continue to evolve.
