More information from organisers:

The marionettes are alive and doing all kinds of amazing things in Hanging by a Thread. Meet characters such as Constantine the Cyclist, Pina the Ballerina and Fred the Tapdancer as they perform their crazy antics.

A show without spoken words: each character tells their story through movement and music and, by interacting with the actor-puppeteers, they perfectly showcase the magic of the marionette.

Duration: 50min no interval

Relaxed performance 18th February 11am

Performance streamed online 15th Feb 2pm

The Puppet Theatre Barge has been putting on puppet shows on a converted Thames barge for over thirty years. The audience begin their journey as soon as they step onto the gangplank and climb aboard. They descend below the water line and leave the real world behind. Puppets from other parts of the world hang from the walls in retirement. The theatre’s golden curtain is softly lit and banks of seats slope gently to the roof. A ship’s bell is rung, the audience falls silent in anticipation. Music plays, the lights dim, the theatre goes dark and finally the curtain rises to the delight of children and adults alike.
